Looking for an alternative for rclone with UI reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- coprince · 2023-12-17 14:19 Hello everyone, I am looking for a way to realize the following backup strategy: 1. i want to copy my gdrive to an external hard disk. 2. I want to upload from my external hard disk to another cloud storage. At the moment I have implemented the whole thing with rclone, which also works well. But I would like a solution with a WebUI. The following information about my setup: \- I have a small server in the basement running Proxmox. \- I have OMV running on it as a VM and Portainer runs on top of OMV. \- I would like to solve the whole thing via Portainer, as I can make my USB hard disk available directly via OMV, without the detour via a network share. \- I always want to keep gdrive as the source data set, as I can access it from anywhere. The second cloud backup and the local backup are only for redundancy. I have tested duplicati, but unfortunately this does not solve point 1. The UI of rclone doesn't really seem suitable to me either. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks a lot! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Skotticus · 2023-12-17 16:37 You could try borgbackup with Vorta? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- coprince · 2023-12-17 17:45 Thanks, I will have a look at Borg with vorta. I want to keep gdrive for my "everywhere accessable" cloud storage. I just need to move files automatically ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Skotticus · 2023-12-17 18:22 Ah, then you're probably going to have to stick with rclone or rsync? Or Syncthing, which I think has a UI. Borgbackup is for creating encrypted repositories; if you want to have the files accessible at the destination, it wont do what you need. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- coprince · 2023-12-17 19:14 The files on destination are just a pure backup, nothing that must be accessible. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DrOop104 · 2023-12-18 01:23 Just in case you don't know, rclone comes with an experimental web GUI that may be enough for your use case: https://rclone.org/gui/#how-it-works ---------------------------------------------------------------------- coprince · 2023-12-18 04:41 Thanks, I already tried it, but it's really experimental.
