Finally got my dashboard looking how I want. Custom Dracula theme and icons. reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 11:32 But it's never ending, smh... Anyone have any other good apps that you would recommend? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- javijuji · 2023-12-17 11:40 You have Plex but no arr*s? Homepage added tabs a few versions ago which you can use to split management, media & apps when your dashboard starts to get bloated. A few additional apps - Stirling-pdf (every pdf tool you might ever need) - UpSnap (wake on lan) - Uptime Kuma - Your choice of proxy manager - PiHole or AdGuardHome ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 11:43 I need to stop being lazy and set up my *arrs lol. I do have Uptime Kuma (right side) and NGINX (native, non-docker). The other apps sound awesome. Thanks for the suggestions, been looking for a PDF tool but kept forgetting to find one. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Malossi167 · 2023-12-17 11:44 Depends a lot on what you want to do. Adding tautulli to Plex is worth it IMO, pihole + Unbound is easy to set up and rather popular, vaultwarden (Bitwarden) as well, Pgnix Proxy Manager if you want to make it easier to manage your domain and https, Audiobookshelf is the Plex for Audiobooks, overseer can help you to manage your Plex library and request and even fully automize this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- illegalsmolcat · 2023-12-17 11:45 Bro. This looks awesome. What is this? I want it! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 11:48 Thank you! The Dashboard is [Homepage](https://github.com/gethomepage/homepage) and the theme and icons are both custom made myself. I took the existing icons and modified them to match the Darcula theme. If someone is interested in the theme I can probably flesh it out and share it. Was thinking about creating a github to share Dracula themed icons for open source projects as well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- _Thoomaas · 2023-12-17 11:50 Saved for later. Thanks! Might comment something later, searching for some inspiration to sort out my home lab. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Saaltofreak · 2023-12-17 11:50 I am interested in the theme, can you share it maybe? :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1337wtf · 2023-12-17 11:55 very nice theme please share it ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 12:10 Sure thing! Here is the [repo](https://github.com/Jas- SinghFSU/homepage-dracula); keep in mind though I only styled it for myself so it doesn't take into account statuses and calendar/widgets. I'll update it to support that as well. Readme should get your started on setting up the app and how to add my theme to it (`custom.css`) and icons. Refer to the [Homepage Documentation](https://gethomepage.dev/v0.8.3/configs/services/) to set up your services and bookmarks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 12:11 Shared in the comment above :D ---------------------------------------------------------------------- illegalsmolcat · 2023-12-17 12:12 Thank you bro! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ooviixoo · 2023-12-17 12:13 When you do, highly recommend looking into Gluetun... and using it as the network route for any of your super secret Linux ISO downloading tools. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 12:19 Gluetun sounds interesting. I'm running a WireguardVPN in a container, would I benefit from Gluetun? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ooviixoo · 2023-12-17 12:20 Was looking at my dashy and cobbled together the following list: \-- Linkding -- bookmark manager w/ browser app \-- Planka -- Trello-like self-hosted \-- Splunk -- if you need a tool for analytics (free = 500GB ingest/day) \-- Photoprism -- picture/gallery image management (needed this after dabbling into Stable Diffusion) \-- Traefik -- reverse proxy to secures \*all the things\* \-- As previously mentioned... the 'Arrs... and as I recommended above Gluetun sitting in front of them to prevent potential IP leakage... Gluetun also provides a shadowsocks server for Adhoc usage. Good luck, homelabbin' is quite addictive... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 12:22 Anytime :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 12:24 Ah, thank you for sharing! I had asked if I would need Gluetun since I have wireguard but it's probably a superset of wireguard I imagine right? I might have to set aside some time to add Gluetun and *rrs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ooviixoo · 2023-12-17 12:27 Not sure about the pros and cons of WireguardVPN but Gluetun just works for me... once you have it spun up and configured (works with nearly every VPN provider I have seen), you can deploy additional docker containers to use that container as their network -- it's a single Kill Switch (so to speak)... if Gluetun is down or otherwise unable to route -- all the dependent containers simply dont have a network route... simple and effective. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ooviixoo · 2023-12-17 12:29 >to add Gluetun and \*rrs. TBH, I found the process of setting them all up more entertaining than actually using them... hah. I pretty much leave them offline 99% of time until I have a craving for that newest super secret Linux ISO... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 12:30 Wow that's freakin' amazing. 100% getting that set up, thank you! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Pesfreak92 · 2023-12-17 13:19 Very nice dashboard. Some inspiration for my future dashboard. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- maslanypotwor · 2023-12-17 13:51 Cool dashboard! I use homepage myself but I do not have those green dots next to each service. What are they and how do you configure those? :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Muizaz88 · 2023-12-17 15:07 https://gethomepage.dev/v0.8.0/configs/services/#site-monitor ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rickysaturn · 2023-12-17 16:12 I've managed openvpn and wireguard configurations through multiple providers since 2015 or so. I've had many ups and downs with learning a new provider's services, configuring, guessworking, and sometimes ending up with a sloppy, unsecure setup that didn't perform well and/or was difficult to maintain/modify. While I also became interested in the idea of randomizing and load balancing my connections, I realized I really needed a clear and reliable methodology. Needless to say, I was also becoming more dependent upon reliable VPN connections as I was proxying more traffic and services through them. Since introducing [Gluetun](https://github.com/qdm12/gluetun) to my environment, being dependent on VPN service has become SO MUCH EASIER. It's clear, comprehensive, offers quick transition between providers, and is super resilient and reliable. The only drawbacks, which I have to mention, are I'd like to see speedier development and more contributions/participation with the project. Nonetheless, [discussions](https://github.com/qdm12/gluetun/discussions) are open and this a great place to search for and ask questions. Lastly, I want to leave a link to a project that leverages Gluetun and manages [randomization of providers and connections.](https://github.com/ingestbot/randomizer) This is also a great way to see how to implement Gluetun features and bring in additional services (eg, Unbound, proxying, multiple providers, load balancing, etc.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- that_boi18 · 2023-12-17 17:35 Gluetun also supports "custom" providers, so you can just drop in the WireGuard config file you're using with your current WireGuard container. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Saaltofreak · 2023-12-17 18:58 thx buddy! :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- saintjimmy12 · 2023-12-17 19:17 Awesome ! Can you share your theme ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 19:22 Ty! Absolutely, feel free to share. I plan on adding widget support as well to make it more complete. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- saintjimmy12 · 2023-12-17 19:50 I was asking if you have a link to your theme ;-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 19:51 Apparently I can't read haha. Here ya go https://github.com/Jas- SinghFSU/homepage-dracula. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pixel8dmess · 2023-12-17 21:07 Love the theme and the setup as whole. Complete with 🐙 Can you give a bit more info on Chevereto please? After I saw it here, went to look at their website. Please ignore my ignorance but how is it different to say using Nextcloud for images/photos? Would it be comparable to Immich or Photoprism? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- javijuji · 2023-12-17 21:18 Any plans to do additional icons? Nginx Proxy Manager, Proxmox, Pi- Hole & Home Assistant, etc. Just installed the theme and looks great. Is the background image avaliable as well? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 21:31 I was originally using Nextcloud for photos but unfortunately it compresses all image previews. If I want to use a link to an image on Nextcloud and the image is 4k, it looks awful because it's compressed. The only reason I'm really using Chevereto is so I can host and share links to uncompressed images. While Chevereto is open source, it's super restrictive unless you pay or find an old (v3 instead of v4) image hosted by someone else. I'll probably be switching off from Chevereto once I find another app that has a nice UI and doesn't compress image previews via links. Really, I just need an Imgur. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 21:36 I have added a directory in the repo for backgrounds. My current goal is to convert most of the open source app icons [here](https://github.com/walkxcode/dashboard- icons/blob/main/ICONS.md) to Dracula theme. I will prioritize the ones you listed today and ping you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jazkyr · 2023-12-17 22:15 I've added the 3 icons you suggested in the 'Dracula Icons' directory. If you would like me to prioritize some other ones, please open a Request in the Issues for the repo. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kmisterk · 2023-12-17 22:26 Hey, Jazkyr!
