Where's my bottleneck? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Czyreta · 2023-12-17 09:24 I'm running plex & \*arr stack on my NAS but accessing any of the webpages are so slow they are often unusable. Speed does vary and can be usable at times but never quick. Even when requests are timing out though the CPU usage is always between 10-20% an RAM is never above 60%. Network traffic during these times is only typically about 1Mbps up and down. Does this seem to be something misconfigured or am I running into a hardware limitation? What's causing things to be so slow? Build details: QNAP TS-464-4GB with x3 16TB Ironwolf Pros running * Plex app * Deluge&VPN (docker) * Prowlarr (docker) * Radarr (docker) * Sonarr (docker) * Readarr (docker) * Bazarr (docker) * Overseer (docker) NAS is connected via cat6 to Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro -> Ubiquiti U6 Plus ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SeirWasTaken · 2023-12-17 09:46 How do you access the web pages? By ip, or host? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marmata75 · 2023-12-17 09:55 What about disk access? The arr stack produces a lot of io for the daily scans, that slows everything down when you navigate, mostly I think because of the need to access the db! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rafipiccolo · 2023-12-17 17:17 Install netdata and watch the CPU / disk / network load as you do things. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Czyreta · 2023-12-17 21:18 I'll take a look at this when I get some time. Is there anything specific you'd recommend looking for? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Czyreta · 2023-12-17 21:19 By ip, typically from my laptop and sometimes phone ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Czyreta · 2023-12-17 21:21 I did see a lot of IO wait with the CPU, is there anything I can do to improve this? Maybe move the configs to an SSD? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- marmata75 · 2023-12-17 21:26 Moving the metadata and the database to ssd should vastly improve that! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Czyreta · 2023-12-17 21:27 Great! I'll look into doing that when I get a bit more time. Thanks
