auto photo ingest?

I am looking for a solution for my wife. I want to set up an app
(preferably docker based with a web UI) where she can just plug in her
camera sd card and any new photos will be copied to a directory that
she can access on the network. I have already set up all her devices
with access to our nas so her getting the photos shouldn't be a
problem just me getting them on there.

if it is a linux based machine, and the camera or sdcard reader is
always the same and plugs in over usb, can't you create an automatic
action that does exactly that?

i.e: specific device is being attached, so run a bash script - which
contains the commands to move the sd card contents to the place you
want it ?
