Simplest self-hosted image (screenshots) sharing server reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ctrl-brk · 2023-12-16 09:15 I need a very simple (docker hopefully) image script that will simply let you drag and drop an image, and then it upload it to the filesystem in a location I can control (Debian). I don't need any user authentication, it is behind a firewall/vpn. Images being stored are screenshots. Another platform will pickup the images for actual use. All options I've found so far and simply too complicated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thomasdarko · 2023-12-16 09:25 Filebrowser ---------------------------------------------------------------------- baba_janga · 2023-12-16 09:37 Imgur? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- wireis · 2023-12-16 09:44 https://github.com/CaramelFur/Picsur ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lidstah · 2023-12-16 11:57 [Picoshare](https://github.com/mtlynch/picoshare) might fit the bill. There will still be a fairly basic authentication for managing files, but you can just create a link so other users can post files using this link. There's some retention capabilities for files (delete after 1 day/1 week/1 month/1 year/never and custom). It's available on docker hub, and maintained. It's really lightweight. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bityard · 2023-12-16 12:09 This seems nice ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MR2Fan · 2023-12-16 12:45 In fact not a docker image but also a very easy solution: https://github.com/stackp/Droopy A simple Python script as a Webserver and can also provide a list of files. It writes directly to the storage location rather with temp files and moving like through a webserver. This was used inside r/piratebox years ago. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ctrl-brk · 2023-12-16 15:48 This looks perfect ---------------------------------------------------------------------- erp_punk · 2023-12-16 16:38 I use xbackbobe with sharex, all screenshots are uploaded to the local xbackbone server immediately. You can also upload directly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ynd22 · 2023-12-16 18:26 This is the way. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Zottelchen · 2023-12-17 05:50 Originally I've used different servers over the years. But today I just upload it to my Cloudflare R2, which has a domain linked and auto-deletes after a week. Plus I can upload pretty much any file just using ShareX. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- redux_0x5 · 2023-12-17 09:54 I’ve also been looking for a similar tool and decided to create one from scratch: [Slink](https://github.com/andrii-kryvoviaz/slink) Still working on it, just not having much time. Anyway, I would love to see your feature or pull requests ;)
