Nextcloud - Running as container in CasaOS. Unable to change /Data directory to CIFS mounted Storage on Proxmox host machine reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- calmsea1014 · 2023-12-15 11:05 I might be wrong here, but in my experience when I ran CasaOS as a container in Proxmox I ran into weird permission issues, particularly when attempting to mount network shares. The solution I found that worked was instead of running CasaOS in a container, run it inside a dedicated VM on Proxmox. I used just a basic Debian server installed on a VM, then installed CasaOS on the VM and I was then able to mount network shares no problem. Might mean you have to start over with everything. Which is unfortunate if you already have a bunch of data in your container, but it is the only solution I found to work. Hope this helps! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Legitimate_Fail_8742 · 2023-12-15 11:08 Thanks so much for replying. I just got it sorted. All I had to do was to do bind mount in the lxc conf file of the lxc I set the mount point inside the lxc and the path to where the usb drive was mounted on the host and now it’s working ---------------------------------------------------------------------- calmsea1014 · 2023-12-15 11:20 Awesome! Glad you got it! And thanks for sharing your fix. Much simpler than my solution haha. I learned something new today
