Help! How can I be able to connect to a personal home server outside of my wifi network. reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ItsSchmuncky · 2023-12-15 07:11 Hey, so i am using this service called mStream (http://www.mstream.io/) and once it is all setup you connect to it using either http://localhost:port or http://ip-adress:port What i am trying to do is make it possible to connect to this while outside of my home network? (school for example) i’ve been trying many different ways, port forwarding being one, but i have found no success. Any help is appreciated!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Anejey · 2023-12-15 08:36 Using a VPN. Look up Tailscale. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Muizaz88 · 2023-12-15 09:57 After messing about with multiple solutions, the best method I have found is Wireguard. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- xervir-445 · 2023-12-15 15:18 If I don't want to open a given service to the internet at large I use a vpn. Wireguard works and is no-nonsense. I use the [wg- easy](https://hub.docker.com/r/weejewel/wg-easy) container because life's too short to manually edit config files.
