Project management software that has cross-project dashboard / views? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- guesswhochickenpoo · 2023-12-15 03:40 I'm looking for some project / task management software that allows me to view tasks across multiple "project" (or whatever term the app uses). Basically the idea is that we have a household "project" (currently in Trello) that my wife and I both work on but I also have many side projects that I work on I need to keep separate. However, I want one unified view across all projects where I can see what should be worked on next, what's overdue, what she's working on, etc. **Requirements:** * **Cross-project views** (must have) * **Mobile support** (my wife work mostly on mobile for her tasks) * **Kanban support** (might be flexible on this but would really like it) So far I've tried the following and either they are overloaded with features I don't need, ugly, or in most cases don't have the cross- project view I need. * Openproject (overkill and ugly / unintuitive interface) * Focalboard (simple, decent, mobile is in beta, but no cross-project views) * leantime (no cross-project view) * taiga (no cross-project view) * Plane (closest so far but only has "spreadsheet view" for cross- project view). The [Docker install](https://github.com/makeplane/plane/blob/preview/docker- compose.yml) also requires like 9? images / containers which seems pretty heavy ---------------------------------------------------------------------- liltrublmakr56 · 2023-12-15 12:51 Vikunja might be up your alley. You can share projects, but I don't know if it will satisfy your "view" you are talking about but I think it will. I only use it for myself but I know you can share projects, assign tasks, make deadlines, etc. You can change between 4 views, checklist, Gantt, kanban, and table. All of them work off the same data so you aren't sick with just a single view. Don't use the I official mobile apps... They stuck. You are better off using the browser on your phone. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- guesswhochickenpoo · 2023-12-15 16:18 Holy shit on the surface this sounds almost too good to be true. Simple and modern interface, no bloated features I don’t need, and even some cross project features I don’t list as requirements but kind of wanted. > Relate different tasks together - even if they're not in the same project! A relation can be multiple things, for example a subtask or blocking task. Will give it a try, thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- homegrowntechie · 2023-12-15 17:36 Nextcloud deck works great and offers an 'upcoming cards' view and integrates with tasks: https://duckduckgo.com/?q=nextcloud+deck&t=fpas &iax=images&ia=images&iai=https%3A%2F%2Ff- droid.org%2Frepo%2Fit.niedermann.nextcloud.deck%2Fen- US%2FphoneScreenshots%2F1.png ---------------------------------------------------------------------- guesswhochickenpoo · 2023-12-15 17:56 Good to know, thanks. I might check it out if Vikunja suggested by someone else doesn’t workout. It seems to have a lot of features I’m looking for. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NMS-Town · 2023-12-15 19:13 I used Projeqtor, but it does cost to have a mobile skin. I have a larger mobile phone so it didn't really bother me using it. They have a demo. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- guesswhochickenpoo · 2023-12-15 20:27 Looks very robust but also has a LOT of stuff I don't need which clutters the interface and experience. Will keep it in mind in case my needs expand but so far Vikunja sees to be almost exactly what I'm after.
