Hello, I am writing a small script. I want the script to send
something like a ping to a server when it is executed. Is there a
server software with which this can be realised?

Simply have your script write the count to a file.

Try /r/LinuxQuestions and /r/Linux4Noobs for help to make such a
script. Its not selfhosting.
