Tool for multiple calendar availability sync reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BriefDirt · 2023-12-13 13:00 I don't know if it exists, I haven't been able to find it, but maybe some one here knows something ... I freelance for several organisations, and each of them have given me a user in each of their workspace setups. So now I have six different work calendars to keep track of when booking meetings. It's getting to be too much. So I am looking for a tool that would be allow me to sync availability across n+1 calendars (mostly Google Calendar and iCloud, so CalDav)? I don't need to sync tasks, I don't need to sync events, just whether or not a given timeslot is available. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- shaftofbread · 2023-12-13 13:12 vdirsync ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FelisCantabrigiensis · 2023-12-13 16:00 Syncing available slots is essentially the same problem as syncing events, because availability is the inverse of events but you can only see events, not lack of events. Maybe vdirsync, suggested in another post, will do it for you. Personally I use Mac Calendar to produce a unified view of several calendars, because it subscribes quite well to remote CalDAV calendars like Google Calendar. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CrashOverride93 · 2023-12-14 11:50 Why don't use a CalDAV based calendar, and not Google Calendar? If yes, Baikal is an entire CalDAV sync server. You can use any compatible calendar app to view events. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- greycupofcoffe · 2023-12-15 06:26 I’m trying the same thing but the availability pane that comes up when scheduling meetings with other people doesn’t feed from all my calendar accounts to properly show availability… have you experienced that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FelisCantabrigiensis · 2023-12-15 09:07 Ah, I see what you mean now. You want to be able to look up, implicitly, the calendar of anyone else so you can find conflicts when scheduling. That's still looking up events, not availability, but for some other people. I don't get that on the Mac calendar, but I think that may be because I don't sync address book for the other enterprises I have calendars from - i.e. I don't sync my work contacts to my personal mac, only my work calendar. It may be that syncing contacts would work, or it may not because you might still have to be subscribed (via CalDAV) to all the calendars of everyone you might want to invite. That's a trickier problem and I'm afraid I don't have an obvious solution to it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- greycupofcoffe · 2023-12-15 16:16 Nono seeing their events works great it’s just that, say I have two exchange accounts from different enterprises, if I try to schedule a meeting with someone from enterprise A, I do see their availability, but in the same window where Calendar.app combines our availabilities, I can only see the events on my calendar from enterprise A, so it says that I’m free at, say, 1:00 PM even though I might have an appointment for enterprise B or even on my personal iCloud calendar. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BriefDirt · 2023-12-15 21:12 Because I don't decide which platform my clients are running. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CrashOverride93 · 2023-12-15 21:14 Ohh, got it.
