Is there any app or docker container to backup my emails from my gmail
account to my home server?

You can use imapsync. It is very easy to use.

I use [offlineimap](https://github.com/OfflineIMAP/offlineimap) for
that. The python 3 version doesn't work for me but this old version
(the one I linked) works and even syncs the Gmail label.

I’m a fan of imapsync :) but if you looking more for a backup
solution, also to cleanup your mail account have a look on

Do any of these allow you to extra any attachments and save them in a
folder? I think I have a of random email pictures and i want to clean
out my Gmail.
