Bit of a rant incoming here:

So I am highly disappointed (and other choice words to say the least)
with ActronAir platform.

We purchased our house 4yrs ago now and we only had the option to
purchase an upgrade wifi unit + controller board for "Actron Connect"
(\~$1500-2000AUD I can't exactly remember)

Today we have an email "Link here" with basically a service that is
being discontinued and not supported and no talk about upgrade paths
(besides a website login?)(Very very poor PR)

I am glad that someone useful members of the HA community have a
workaround for this to fix this locally, but to be honest I am fuming
that we can't hold these providers accountable for a service that paid
for

More info on the HA addons here:

This was going to be my holiday automation to setup anyway prior to
this email but again just frustrating to say the least that Actron has
cornered everyone on this platform.

This is giving me flashbacks from the MyQ incident

I brought into a "new" UK brand a few years ago, I spent a small
fortune on light switches etc, purely on the basis they had plans for
a massive eco system..

At the same time, I brought a few cheap WIFI lights and plugs from
AliExpress, all branded different, but use the ultimately they're made
by "Tuya" aka Smartlife) for our holiday apartment in Spain (we share
it with family)...

Guess which one is still in business, and massively.expanded their
range.. and now has hundreds of different devices.
