Looking to host a store to sell stuff in a game with ingame currency reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Corvus741 · 2023-12-12 22:34 So I run a store in a MMO that I play, and sell in game items for in game currency. I am looking to create store to easily keep track of inventory, where people can place orders, and pay in game at time of sale for in game currency, any idea's on what I could use for that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sy029 · 2023-12-12 22:40 In order to automatically know when someone sends you in-game currency, you'd need to actually link to the game somehow to track it. It's not impossible to make, but it's pretty doubtful that someone has made it already. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- StockKnife · 2023-12-12 23:33 I googled "Micotransaction platform", found this?: https://conotoxia.com/payments/microtransactions-for-games ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Corvus741 · 2023-12-12 23:34 I do the sales in person in game, currency is sent at time of sale, I’m just looking for something to setup the e-commerce store with a customer currency. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Corvus741 · 2023-12-12 23:35 Not really micro transactions, I don’t make any like real money off this, only in game currency ---------------------------------------------------------------------- StockKnife · 2023-12-12 23:52 ahh my bad, misunderstood your question sorry! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Corvus741 · 2023-12-12 23:52 It Happens! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ManifestFailure · 2023-12-12 23:59 Problem is going to be the store not knowing how much the customer has for currency. What is stopping people from buying out more than they can afford and messing with your stock levels. You would probably get away with using any self-hosted e-commerce platform that allows "pay on delivery" as an option. Wordpress options can be fairly simple to get going, at least they were when I last tried woocommerce. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- StockKnife · 2023-12-13 00:01 I haven't tried it but I'd expect it should be possible with something like a Wordpress Self-hosted website (WordPress.org) running WooCommerce and an inventory management plugin. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Corvus741 · 2023-12-13 01:32 I'll check it out for sure!
