JellyFin, NPM and HTTPS reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ereziah17 · 2023-12-11 22:33 Hello there, I'm here because I've some trouble having Jellyfin being available for some friends over HTTPS. Setup: My Jellyfin server is running in a Ubuntu VM, this VM is also running Docker (and the full stack JellySeerr/Radarr/Nginx). I Used DuckDNS to get a domain name, then used the NGINX built-in tool to get a certificate ( 2 domains registered in the same cert, foo.duckdns.org and \*.foo.duckdns.org). Under "Proxy host", I've setup a domain (jellyfin.foo.duckdns.org), the right internal IP, the right port (default in this case), selected the "mixed" cert for SSL, ticked the force SSL and HTTP/2 switches. Problems: When I test using the domain specified in Nginx with Cellular data or a vpn, I can access Jellyfin everytime with HTTPS ( no warnings from the browser etc), but when I ask some friends to reach the server with the same URL, some might have warnings, some not. I've tried multiples browser(Edge,Brave,Chrome) (same as my mates where it doesn't work) and every time it's fine for me. To be added, two of my friends are living in the same place, same ISP, but one is able to access HTTPS, the other not (Brave is OK, Chrome is not). What could be the problem? Should I create a SSL cert for every sub-domain? Thanks for your time ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ohelig · 2023-12-11 23:56 What's the warning? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-12-12 00:31 /r/LetsEncrypt /r/NginxProxyManager ---------------------------------------------------------------------- berahi · 2023-12-12 01:38 Try `curl -v https://thedomain` running on you and your friends to compare which steps it borked on. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- elroypaisley · 2023-12-12 01:41 why not rclone? If all you need is a reverse proxy and https, why do people bother with nginx? it's 100x more complicated. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- daedric · 2023-12-12 18:16 What kind of warnings ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ereziah17 · 2023-12-12 18:32 Just "this website is insecure, hacker ( or smthg like this) might try to get your personnal informations" I'll try to get informations from the curl command someone posted earlier, and see what it returns. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- daedric · 2023-12-13 08:41 The typical RED warning from Chrome ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ereziah17 · 2023-12-13 10:00 Yup
