I've tried many, from nextcloud to pydio. None really fit my weirdo
needs. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of the best google-drive
like open source (and self-hosted) alternative to nextcloud, pydio,
etc etc. (I use linux servers btw)

I've been on a similar journey recently. So far, SFTPGo seems to be
the best option (for me). It may be worth a look.
