Using syncthing or alternative for a subfolder?

I have syncthing syncing a large folder between two computers. I want
my phone to sync a subolder deep in the large folder.

The documentation recommends against nested shares.
I considered using an stignore file, but my android application will
be looking for the files in specific folder.

Can syncthing even do this?
Should I be using an alternative like nextcloud or something?

you can do it   The issue with nested shares is loops. As long as only
your phone is syncing the internal folder and it is not also syncing
the outer folder you should be fine.
