Personal Server tips reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- joneco · 2023-12-09 15:35 Hello i have a server with an xeon e5-2695 v4 18cores/36 threads, now i am with 32GB of ram but the full setup will be at 64gb. i need some tips for my setup * i am planning to have a gpu for transcoding and may play some remote games (very old games). i need it to be a low consumption board because of the power supply i am using a 400w +-75% efficiency. 1. quadro p400 or p600 (2GB) 2. nvidia 1050ti 4GB 3. ati rx 550 * i used open media vault in the past, but i may change to freenas or unraid. I have 5 8tb ironwolf drivers, and i will buy another 3 in the future totalling 8 x 8tb. I am planning to use raid 10 * its possible to add new drivers to the array? ive done that in omv before, if i use zfs can i add a new hdd to the array without loosing data? * i would install portainer in a lxc or vm inside proxmox, i was going to avoid installing in nas OS. * i saw that unraid have a hybrid array instead of the zfs, but i didnt undesrtand it at all. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-12-09 16:16 /r/HomeServer /r/OpenMediaVault
