Music manager with genius/smart list generator reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- danirebollo · 2023-12-08 22:13 Hi, I'm wondering if there is any way to get smart music lists based on similarity of the songs (tempo, dynamic range, etc.). I thought Apple Itunes Genius feature (deprecated years ago) had some offline algorithms behind it, but i read some papers saying that there is no black magic but only data analysis of user statistics. So: there is any open source project trying to do something like this but using offline algorithms in a self hosted app? And, if not, maybe some plugin for sonar? Greetings ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JustDalek_ · 2023-12-08 22:42 if you have plex they have a mobile app called plex amp that has some smart lists I dont recall if it requires plex pass or not though, if it does nvm not worth it, if it doesnt, neat! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Plane_Resolution7133 · 2023-12-09 01:09 Just a FYI, Genius is still in Apple Music for macOS. I thought they had removed it, but it was just disabled and the setting to enable it was moved. Other than that, I’ve been meaning to try Navidrome for a while, haven’t had the time yet. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sentriz · 2023-12-09 18:55 software like beets can generate playlists based on any beets query. could be stuff like `bpm:120..` or `genre:house` on top of that, software like gonic can read and serve those playlists https://beets.readthedocs.io/en/stable/plugins/smartplaylist.html https://github.com/sentriz/gonic/
