Simple photo gallery with support for directories and tags

I understand that this question was asked a lot, but maybe someone is
aware of small not so popular project that support tags and works file
with nested directories? I have the feeling that I've tried most of
the popular solutions, but very few support both features and most of
them try to be google photos instead of simple web-based photoviewer.
So in general the simpler the better.

What do you mean, support nested directories? AFAICT most of them will
traverse directories to index the photos. Or are you saying you want a
directory view of your photos instead of a feed/timeline/etc?

If that's the case, then probably your host OS will be plentiful. Most
modern OSs support tagging, and you can have any folder structure you
want. You can put a directory browsing on your http server, to list
all the contents of a folder.

Exactly. I dont want timeline, I want directory view.
