Email Hosting for 100+ mailboxes with 200GB storage reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vixdev · 2023-12-08 12:33 What is the best and cheapest solution for this need to have 100+ mailboxes and overall storage to be around 200 GB,as most email users will need that, right now it's all setup in a VPS server using Cpanel webmail ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sahrea · 2023-12-08 12:36 I use an vps with [poste.io](https://poste.io). Its not Open Source but a very nice Self Hosting Out of Box Mail Server. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- user3872465 · 2023-12-08 12:45 Why not get a RDY to go soulution. Netcup has their webhosting stack. Which allows depending on what you buy upto 1tb for emals with over 1k addresses and half a dozn domans. for about 10euro/m But Its central EU only so your milage may vary ---------------------------------------------------------------------- subven1 · 2023-12-08 13:12 The free version is private use only and the pro version pricy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- msg7086 · 2023-12-08 14:10 I don't want to mess with self hosted mail box (and all the troubles to manage delivery rate, IP blacklist, all the stuff) so I just got a black Friday deal from mxroute and called it a day. Would be a good choice if you are open to alternatives than self hosted. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- notdoreen · 2023-12-08 14:33 How is it with spam filters? Do your emails ever get blocked or go to spam? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ElevenNotes · 2023-12-08 14:41 Exchange with a decent MTA. I can make you an offer if you like. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thedawn2009 · 2023-12-08 14:49 Self hosted options: Mail-in-a-box iRedMail MailCow - personal favorite If you like how you have it now but want to change providers, MXRoute uses DirectAdmin panel and runs an email service. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Sky_Linx · 2023-12-08 16:09 Self hosted: I use https://mailu.io/2.0/ and it's awesome because it's easy to install and back up, it's lightweight and has all the features I need in a self hosted email solution. I don't send emails directly from my server though because of deliverability issues. Instead I use https://www.zoho.com/zeptomail/ as SMTP relay in Mailu to send emails so I never have to worry about deliverability. Mailu is free and open source; Zepto Mail is a paid service by Zoho but very cheap at only 2.50 euros per credit where a credit is valid for 6 months and for 10K emails, so it's super cheap and you can avoid the deliverability issues you will likely have otherwise. If you don't want the hassle of self hosting email check out https://mxroute.com/, it's a rock solid and affordable service. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 274Below · 2023-12-08 16:21 Is this 200GB spread across 100 people, or is it 100 people with 200GB each? (As those are very different things with very different requirements.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- HTTP_404_NotFound · 2023-12-08 16:55 So.... where is the self-hosted part here? Which part, is hosted on your old hardware / network? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TallFescue · 2023-12-08 17:24 True, but for OP it would be ~$1/user/month, much cheaper than many other paid alternatives ---------------------------------------------------------------------- subven1 · 2023-12-08 17:56 Huh what are you talking about? Even if you rent simple webspace including a domain you can get hundreds of email users and >200gb mail storage for as low as 50-60€/year. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- subven1 · 2023-12-08 18:02 >I just got a black Friday deal from mxroute Their black friday deals are still up --> [https://accounts.mxroute.com/index.php?/cart/black-friday- 2023/&step=0&id=250](https://accounts.mxroute.com/index.php?/cart/blac k-friday-2023/&step=0&id=250) 15$/3 years for a unlimited 5GB account is a great deal so worth checking them out! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- subven1 · 2023-12-08 18:15 The problem with most larger hosting companys offering webspace with mailservers or VPS is bad IP reputation. I selfhost many Cloudron instances at Netcup and depend on external SMTP services. Hosting itself is cheap and Netcup would be my first choice. Hosting your own mailserver however is something else and, in general, not a great experience. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RepresentativeMath72 · 2023-12-08 20:19 So you have cpanel with mail why change it is the scope the same ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Impressive-Self9135 · 2023-12-08 20:37 Check our https://stalw.art ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TwoDogDad · 2023-12-08 21:16 Dumb question here, what do I put in for my host name? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- feedmytv · 2023-12-08 23:30 twodogdad.com
