Immich background sync on iOS

We talked much over immich in the last days, so I get interested in
it.

I‘m on iOS and one problem in e.g. nextcloud is, that the background
sync is not reliable, so I want to ask you if the sync in immich works
reliable on iOS, because if not, it‘s not for me.

I mean specifically the background sync, without the need to open the
immich app.

For me it also works great. It doesnt sync instant but at least one
time a day. I also had the same problems with nextcloud and ios like
you but not with immich

Even iOS Photos/iCloud backup is not reliable in terms of time-to-sync
😂 Immich is as good as it gets with all the iOS limitations.

Try to disable background app refresh for apps that you don’t use. It
will help to prevent other app to contest with Immich for the time
slot

It does backup but it’s almost like a trigger. Like when joining the
WiFi, it will try to sync. Or at certain times. Limitation of iOS, but
it does sync. Just don’t time it lol.
