Self hosting wordpress for testing

I thought this was possible, as I was sure I did it several years ago
but can no longer find the guide. To self host a wordpress site for
testing. Going away for two weeks with no Internet and just like
Sandra Bullock in The Net, I like to take my laptop with me to tinker.
So thought would be a good time to update the site while away locally
with the possibility of them pushing those updates to live.

Of course, you can install it manually or spin it up in docker.

Grab the iso, spin it up in VirtualBox and off you go.

Personally if you’re on windows I like using localwp from wheelfly /
wpengine it lets you quickly spin up multiple sites, duplicate them,
test mail, one click admin, etc. Its helped me prototype multiple
websites over the last year faster than I ever did manually setting up
Wordpress instances on vms or docker.
