picture gallery based on folder structure (and more)

Im searching for something that i can selfhost and will use my folder
sstructure as album, yet it will be great if i will be able to make
"virtual" galleries as well, for example for my cat, or with photo
styles separated.

less cluther the better, and dont want somthing that grow in size by
generating ton of data for it to work (like photoprism).

i was considering piwigo but there is no official docker image.

Then i found something like photoview, but im not sure if it is able
to do filesystem based albums mixed with virtual ones, AND not sur if
this project is live anymore as last update is from more than half
year.

Other things i would love to see is access management and video
playback.

Nextcloud with (or without) Memories can do everything you need.

Nextcloud looks like overkill for me now. I was considering it but for
file browsing i want to use filebrowser, and i already have everything
synced with rsync so nextcloud will duplicate my setup i think.

Have a look at PiGallery2. Been using it for a while, for this exact
use case
