Is anyone self hosting anytype? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FL-MTL-ED · 2023-12-07 21:49 Hey, I have been looking at anytype, it seems really cool but the self hosting options I have found so far seem more complicated than they need to be. Basically I want to know if anyone had success using it consistently, what's your experience with it and is there a simpler way to self host it yet? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- et-fraxor · 2023-12-07 23:15 i had a sneak peek on they’re repos and it should not be that hard. test with the [docker compose](https://github.com/anyproto/any-sync- dockercompose) or [ansible playbook](https://github.com/anyproto/ansible-anysync) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zerokelvin273 · 2023-12-08 01:56 I had a look recently, there are the ansible & docker options but the clients don't have configurable server settings so you have patch & compile them yourself. Good news is they are working on fixing that & providing a simpler self hosted setup. So I'm just going to wait 😝 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FL-MTL-ED · 2023-12-08 02:27 well that is very interesting, guess I will just check it out again when they have released that. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DIBSSB · 2023-12-08 03:55 Yes I did but was no use to me ig it said in repo you need to compile your own app for ios ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DIBSSB · 2023-12-08 03:56 Its hard ---------------------------------------------------------------------- et-fraxor · 2023-12-08 08:12 Yeah man, next year i have some spare time… maybe i can contribute to the self hosting task… But it doesn’t show up in the roadmap on github. Project looks very interesting to me btw 🤙🏼 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu · 2023-12-08 09:05 Why? There is a docker compose file with a start / stop script - are you saying they don't work or what is the problem? https://github.com/anyproto/any-sync-dockercompose ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DIBSSB · 2023-12-08 13:49 Idk completely correct if I am wrong but from what i know if you selfhost you beed to complie your own apps for all the platforms you want to use it on
