What are some creative ways one could help a rural community with self
hosted apps? Are there services you provide to your community that
people enjoy??

In a very very limited setting.

I run an ESxi server for a highschool cyber security team, but outside
that my self hosting if for me and my family.

I don't have time to admin a bunch of services for the general public.

Host a pixelfed instance so all residents can share cool Fotos with
another without needing public apps like Instagram. And the kids can
use it too without worries.
