Questions about selfhosted-gateway for Docker containers: VPN and Traffic Routing reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Fleeky91 · 2023-12-06 13:59 Hey selfhosted community, I've recently come across the selfhosted-gateway GitHub repository (link: [selfhosted- gateway](https://github.com/fractalnetworksco/selfhosted-gateway)) and I'm considering implementing it via a VPS for my home server setup, where I run various services in Docker containers. Before diving in, I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping some experienced self-hosters here can help me with: 1. **VPN Connection for Each Container:** When setting up the selfhosted gateway, do I need to individually connect each Docker container to the VPN, or is there a more streamlined process? 2. **Traffic Routing:** If I connect my containers to the VPN through the selfhosted gateway, will all the traffic from each container be routed through the VPN? Or will services like Radarr or Sonarr still be able to send their internet traffic directly without going through the VPN? I'm keen to hear from those who have hands-on experience with selfhosted-gateway or similar setups. Any insights, tips, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jogai-san · 2023-12-06 14:22 Cosmos does this too with constellation vpn: https://cosmos- cloud.io/doc/61%20Constellation%20VPN/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kumbaya_03802 · 2023-12-06 15:59 Cloudflare is doing it too with Cloudflared tunnel. You can use an internal DNS resolver by creating a gateway DNS location connected to Zero Trust (DoH or DoT). I used them on my two AGHs. You can also connect a WARP client app on Windows PC & Cloudflare One Agent on Android & use their WARP VPN for free.
