Half-ISH self host email (at protonmail) reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- FuriousRageSE · 2023-12-06 12:58 Hi. I currently have a bunch of domains, one on old google apps domains or what it was called, own domain in the gsuite/gmail stuff, another domain hosted on an ms exchange server, and my current newest domain going to protonmail directly. However, i would need ideas how to setup everything, so that i can continue recieve emails and somehow switch over to the new mail servers at protonmail, but also be able to copy and move every single email and folders that i have saved on both this gmail mails and the ms exchange hosted. My idea so far is that i more or less connect thunderbird to my email accounts, and then export/save all the mails are a seperate file, and when i got the new mail servers up and running, then i could open these files and copy back over to the new mail server, using imap. Often my gmail email is either my old login mail, or my default backup mail to access accounts as example, the ms exchange one is currently my main email, and i recieve alot of mail here daily. I know this isn't really 100% selfhost subject, but i feel it still partly is, just not doing the annoying hard mail security settings (dkim and such). I will over time, change all those accounts that i can, to my newest email, update passwords and such. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jogai-san · 2023-12-06 14:55 Look into imap sync. That's how I transfered my mail to a different provider. Since I was on cloudlfare, I use their mail routing features to recieve mail from every domain into two mailboxes.
