Share files with others without account/credentials reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nameage · 2023-12-06 10:33 I would like to share a folder (e.g. with a link) with others without having them to log in, create a profile with credentials, password, etc. They should be able to read AND write inside that folder: upload, download, alter, delete, etc. * Seafile only has an upload OR download/read feature. * Nextcloud has this option but it seems like an overkill for this small task * Synology native solutions don't provide this feature either. Have you got some other suggestions for me? Preferable docker and cloudflare compatible :-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cosmicrae · 2023-12-06 10:47 Please be specific, you want to share a folder with specific people, or with anyone who has the link ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ziomal12 · 2023-12-06 11:56 So sftp server? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nameage · 2023-12-06 12:57 With anyone who has the link. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nameage · 2023-12-06 12:59 This was my first thought also, but I am talking about novice users here who are not familiar with those environments. Also I am not sure if I can enclose their access. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ziomal12 · 2023-12-06 13:05 Well, nextcloud isn't that resource hungry solution. It's just a bit PIA to setup. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AnApexBread · 2023-12-06 14:13 Does Synology Drive not allow sharing files and folders like Google Drive? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nameage · 2023-12-06 19:32 Yes, but only to view the content. One can not upload or delete files and folders. Yes, there is an upload link possibility. But that also does not provide editing of existing content. Or am I missing something? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- zachfive87 · 2023-12-06 21:36 [zrok does this fairly easily.](https://docs.zrok.io/docs/concepts/sharing-private/) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PhilipLGriffiths88 · 2023-12-07 10:23 Exactly, plus removes the need for Cloudflare.
