Dashboard for monitoring reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mqttes · 2023-12-05 21:39 Hey, i have tried out a few dashboards in the last few months, but seeing that there is a massive amount of them i cant help but feel like i am missing out on "the one". I use Unraid and am interested in something that monitors resource usage, has arr suite, jellyfin, jellyseer torrent and nzb client integration, network usage etc. Basically the whole shabang, not just a (admittedly great looking) homepage to access various webuis. Any ideas? Thx ---------------------------------------------------------------------- slommer · 2023-12-05 21:49 I'm running librenms here and working fine here. Bit if a hassle to setup alerts Rest is great. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jonteponte71 · 2023-12-05 22:07 Homepage have widgets for most (all?) of those services and also has resource widgets and glances integration. Have you missed it? gethomepage.dev ---------------------------------------------------------------------- root-node · 2023-12-05 23:15 Agreed, LibreNMS is a PITA to setup and to ensure all your devices are configured with SNMP, but once done, it's great. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thekrautboy · 2023-12-06 00:13 Dashboards are not for monitoring exactly. If you want to monitor your metrics of your systems, you need to focus on something else. Tons of threads about this exist there already, plus the awesome-selfhosted lists in the sidebar, you can simply use the search. Zabbix, Netadata, LibreNMS, Grafana/cAdvisor/Prometheus and many more options exist. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ithilelda · 2023-12-06 00:39 agreed. I use dashy to simply direct me to all my apps without typing their respective addresses only. Monitoring is done with netdata. A clear cut concern is easier to maintain. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- National-Dust-2194 · 2023-12-06 04:10 I use [Homepage](https://github.com/gethomepage/homepage). Has integrations with nearly every service I use and it's pretty easy to set up ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nik_h_75 · 2023-12-06 05:06 +1 for this. I had grafana but it was too heavy - homepage has some really nice integrations which gives you great flexibility in output and visuals on system performance. I use it across 4 systems (1 proxmox host and 3 VMs) with a mix of glances and docker host monitoring. The best bit is the flexibility of the UI (works great on mobile and in edge sidebar). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mqttes · 2023-12-06 09:57 looks really interesting, however the yaml configuration is kind of scary ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jonteponte71 · 2023-12-06 11:52 I looked around for something lightweight when prometeus and grafana feels like overkill and remembered the glances integration in homepage. Unfortunately glances itself adds sigificant load to my docker host (a Synology NAS) so for now I will have to make do with the default resource widgets in homepage and just have glances as a stopped container that can be started on demand. It’s ironic since I am running 15 other services that does not even put as much load on the host as glances itself :) I’m sure it works better for bare metal and VM hosts 🤷‍♂️ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jonteponte71 · 2023-12-06 16:14 It’s a bit of a chore and the documentation is not spectacular, but once you have got the basics working, it’s easy to add to. And it’s leightweight and speedy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nik_h_75 · 2023-12-06 20:24 Sounds strange. I run glances in OS and doesn't seem to eat resources. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jonteponte71 · 2023-12-06 20:42 For me it increases load from 0-10% with 15 running docker containers to 15-20%. Perhaps it can be tweaked because it seems to display a lot of data by default. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- nik_h_75 · 2023-12-07 09:26 Yes, you can tailor the output. Everything can be configured via a config. I had to figure it out as the default output doesn't include mergerfs (which I use extensively for my NAS) - so worth it to check what you can turn off. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mqttes · 2023-12-07 12:07 thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mqttes · 2023-12-08 12:11 Thank you ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mqttes · 2023-12-08 12:11 Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mqttes · 2023-12-08 12:11 I will look into that, thank you ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mqttes · 2023-12-08 12:11 Sounds great, thanks
