Photosync problems

Guys - I never can get my 7000 photos transferred from iPhone 7 to a
Mac mini which has the PhotoSync app installed too. It times out with
one of these 2 errors

\- the network connection was lost

\- cancelled

My network connection is solid (6E) and I'm very close to the wireless
AP. Anything I can do to troubleshoot? Also, I can't see an option to
resume and get it to transfer the remaining files since it always
seems to time out at about 80%. Should I try to connect a lightning
cable and transfer over that? I think there's a way to activate the
personal hotspot on the iPhone and use the USB hotspot making the
lightning cable a network cable and transfers go through the cable
instead.

If it's running in the background or with the device locked, the phone
could automatically restrict or turn off networking to preserve
battery.

I know immich has had a lot of complaints on iPhones for the exact
reason that it stops running in the background.

However, if you are sat there watching it and making sure the device
doesn't sleep, then I'm not sure what the problem could be. Maybe lots
of wireless interference?
