Probably not the cheapest available, but had only good experiences
with the servers I rent from Hetzner so far. Plus they're Germany
(some data center EU) based so high privacy.

Hetzner is definitely one of the cheapest reputable providers,
especially when it comes to dedicated servers. I'm not sure if there
are any cheaper dedicated servers that are actually good

It depends on what you want (to do).

If you want cheap-cheap, digital ocean dropets are really cheap, but
performans leaves stuff to be desired. But its shared hosting,
probably over provisioned too.

Bare metal co-lo host like Hetzner, cheap for bare metal servers
compared to other, but then you get to use 100% of the cpu and ram, if
you want etc.

I second this. I use linode for a couple of VMs and I’ve always had a
great experience.

Also checkout Contabo, their ~$5 VPS seems good
