Email Archive reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- niemand112233 · 2023-12-05 08:31 I'm looking for an email archive. Requirements: \- No docker \- FOSS Any suggestions? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Electronic_Clap · 2023-12-05 10:15 Mailarchiva its free for like 9 mails ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rrrmmmrrrmmm · 2023-12-05 10:17 You're looking for [Mailpiler](https://www.mailpiler.org/download.html). You can install it without Docker (although I'd always recommend going for containers). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- niemand112233 · 2023-12-05 11:10 thx, but the installation seems quite aweful. Is there a guide to install it with docker? I can't find anything on their website. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jaannnis · 2023-12-05 12:58 >Requirements: \- No docker >the installation seems quite aweful. \*surprised pikachu face\* ---------------------------------------------------------------------- rrrmmmrrrmmm · 2023-12-05 13:02 Maybe this: - https://github.com/jsuto/piler- examples/blob/master/examples/zentyal/docker-compose.yaml or this: - https://github.com/stephdl/nethserver-piler/blob/aa3dc33734d4c963e31 fb7d8fdb417775b4db8b0/root/etc/e- smith/templates/usr/share/piler/docker-compose.yaml/10base ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Spidermanhr · 2023-12-05 14:41 Maybe: https://www.iredmail.org/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- niemand112233 · 2023-12-05 15:52 Some devs creates bash scripts where you can just execute it or some devs just make a step-by-step tutorial and don't say "install xyz, you need to find out how. One of the required packages are not available anymore? Anyways.." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jaannnis · 2023-12-05 16:07 well yeah and most don't because it's nearly impossible to do that as you would need to create a guide for each distro/arch/version/... or have people ranting that "apt install mysql" didnt work on their fedora box. A complete guide for a distro I'm not using is the same as your "install xyz, you need to find out how. One of the required packages are not available anymore? Anyways.." It's way easier to create a docker container which runs on pretty much anything, as long as architecture is the same. Have docker installed? It works! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AdministrativeBug0 · 2023-12-05 17:47 The developer monetises remote installation for you over SSH. Can’t fault their enterprise! That said, I’m an absolute noob and I got it working a few years ago just fine. Perhaps they’ve obfuscated the instructions since then to increase revenue! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Simplixt · 2023-12-05 20:18 Sadly I haven't found anything that comes close to MailStore Home [https://www.mailstore.com/en/products/mailstore- home/](https://www.mailstore.com/en/products/mailstore-home/) It's free, but sadly not Open Source and only for Windows. But at least it runs in portable mode. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- francisco_maia · 2023-12-05 21:17 Yes, mailstore is great. I use it for some stuff or a docker with dovecot imap as a destination archive for imapsync. Both are good ways of archiving mail. I know it's not what you asked for, but take a look, maybe you can see another use case. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- dajavax · 2023-12-06 13:06 I installed Poste.io for this very reason... though it might be available only in docker, not sure... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- blackstar2043 · 2023-12-07 13:17 I opted for offlineimap, dovecot, and snappymail.
