Paperless-ngx: How to store documents (media) on Synology? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CincyTriGuy · 2023-12-04 16:38 Just like the title says. I was successfully able to move my Consume folder to my Synology, so I copied the same volume settings to the Media volume. But when I import documents they don't appear in my Media folder. Here is the folder structure that currently exists on my Synology: \- Volume1\\containers\\paperless\\ \- consume \- media Here are the relevant portions of my Docker compose file: services: webserver: volumes: \- media:/usr/src/paperless/media \- consume:/usr/src/paperless/consume volumes: media: driver\_opts: type: "nfs" o: "addr=[10.118.97.11](https://10.118.97.11),noclock,soft,rw,nfsvers=4" device: ":/volume1/containers/paperless/media/" consume: driver\_opts: type: "nfs" o: "addr=[10.118.97.11](https://10.118.97.11),noclock,soft,rw,nfsvers=4" device: ":/volume1/containers/paperless/consume/" Like I said, when I drop files onto my Consume folder on my Synology, Paperless picks them up and adds them to the database. That tells me communication and permissions with the Synology are working as they should. But when I browse to the Media folder on the Synology, it's empty. So the documents are still being stored somewhere on the Docker host. Does anyone know how I can get the document storage moved to the Synology? And for clarity, I'm running Docker (and the Paperless container) on a Raspberry Pi, not the Synology. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CincyTriGuy · 2023-12-04 16:40 As an aside, what is the trick to getting this to format correctly? I included all the proper indentation in my post yet everything is left justified. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Significant-Neat7754 · 2023-12-04 17:18 Use paste bin ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Moo-To-You · 2023-12-04 19:10 I've had trouble with nfs volumes, I just mount my NAS exports in /mnt and use those dirs in my compose file ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CincyTriGuy · 2023-12-04 19:55 Would you mind sharing the relevant lines in your compose file? Also how did you go about mounting the volume at the host level? My Linux is not very strong. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Moo-To-You · 2023-12-05 20:06 Sorry I completely forgot I posted here! Let me dig it out now, I'll update soon..
