transfer all server traffic via a vps reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mohanad__ · 2023-12-04 15:30 Hello, I bought a VPS and installed pivpn with wireguard on it. I connected my home server to it, but when I go to the IP of my VPS it doesn't load up the Nginx page. Is there a better way to do the above? I'm trying to host a matrix server then use a VPS as a proxy so that I don't open ports on my own router ---------------------------------------------------------------------- bka-informant · 2023-12-04 15:34 Check out Rathole, I use that on my VPS to forward ports from my home server because I'm sitting behind CGNAT https://github.com/rapiz1/rathole ---------------------------------------------------------------------- IzzNarVewalo · 2023-12-04 15:51 Also very happy with Rathole. Dont have access to the router in my student apt. And this helps me to forward ports via a 1€ vps/month. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ukkkiii · 2023-12-04 19:45 you did not mention in a single quote smth about your config. Post more information regarding your nginx setup. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AdrianTeri · 2023-12-04 19:50 Why not host the matrix server on the vps? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mohanad__ · 2023-12-12 16:33 I just replaced my server's ip with the vps but it didn't work looking into tail scale and rathole
