Looking for dedicated server host with 13900k/14900k/7950x cou that actually boost's to the max turbo speeds reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mysterious_Rain9928 · 2023-12-02 21:13 Hi, currently have a few servers from hetzner but they power restrict there servers. The 7950x3d server only boosts to 4.5ghz MAX with a max of 80w to the cpu. Same with there other servers. I am looking for a host that hosts servers that actually turbo to max turbo freq's. Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu · 2023-12-02 21:24 Colocation? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mysterious_Rain9928 · 2023-12-02 21:35 Im not looking to do that ---------------------------------------------------------------------- phein4242 · 2023-12-02 21:57 Atleast in the EU, providers of large server farma (eg, hosters) are required by EU law to implement power savings. See https://eur- lex.europa.eu/legal- content/EN/TXT/?qid=1553786820621&uri=CELEX%3A32019R0424 for the details. The way around this (in the EU) is to colocate yourself, or find a hoster that does not fall under EU juristiction. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu · 2023-12-02 22:18 And Hetzner charges €0.5355/kWh for colocation in Nuremberg :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- p_235615 · 2023-12-03 05:36 because its not efficient to run those systems at high power - they are much more efficient. You basically can get like 80-90% of computational power with basically half the power draw, and power is everything in the datacenter setting.
