Paperless-NGX - Configuration of ASN Barcode Scan

Hello Selfhosters,

I have been using Paperless in my private and professional environment
for 2 years now and I am delighted. I would like to use the ASN scan
function to make it even easier to handle paper documents.

In my case, I stamp the consecutive number on the paper with a
pagination stamp and write ASN in front of it by hand.

I use the following options as environment variables for the Docker
container:

PAPERLESS\_CONSUMER\_ENABLE\_BARCODES: true

PAPERLESS\_CONSUMER\_ENABLE\_ASN\_BARCODE: true

PAPERLESS\_CONSUMER\_ASN\_BARCODE\_PREFIX: "ASN"

Unfortunately, I have not had any success with this so far, in the
document itself "ASN 000001" is recognized with OCR, but the document
did not automatically receive the #1.

I think you need a barcode printed on your document for automatic asn
to work. Writing the numbers by hand (so not encoded into a barcode)
won’t work! Most people preprint the barcodes on labels and apply them
accordingly!
