Self-hosted block storage solution reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- pantheristic · 2023-12-02 19:03 Hello, I am looking for a bloxk storage solution which I can use with Kubernetes. I tried to look onto internet but could not find any proper solution for that. Just like minio is for object storage, is there any self-hosted solution for block storage ? Here are my requirements, 1. It should be self-hostable outside my Kuberentes cluster. 2. It should be used by multiple K8s cluster. 3. CSI support 4. Good if AWS ebs api compatible, but not mandatory. 5. High availability setup 6. Good speed I am running a K8s cluster on-prem and want a separate machine/cluster to host block storage solution which can be used for PVs on my K8s. Thanks ---------------------------------------------------------------------- WiseCookie69 · 2023-12-02 19:14 Ceph? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu · 2023-12-02 19:33 https://github.com/topics/block-storage ---------------------------------------------------------------------- silence036 · 2023-12-02 19:59 If you're talking about a homelab-ish setup, I use truenas + democratic-csi to provision iscsi or NFS based pv's on my clusters, works pretty well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Xenkath · 2023-12-02 20:06 Kubernetes supports iscsi. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kdiicielld · 2023-12-03 17:41 Isn't Ceph still having issues when having a grown infrastructure?
