Proxmox vm slow response time?

So in my homelab I now have a r7 3700x, with a few ssd's and hdd's.
It's hardware is fast... No questioning that.
I have adguardhome, and am wondering if anyone else also has this,
where if I unblock a website or update a list it can take a minute
before it updates on the network...
I have the exact same adguardhome at work, but there it is on vmware
on TurnkeyLinux, and if I update or unblock a domain there it's
instand, like in 2 seconds its applied.

Anyone else seeing this? Is it just the way vmware works? Or might
there be a setting I can change or do to get those results on proxmox?
I've tried debian, turnkey, lubuntu as vm's and now going to try a
standard debian proxmox container instead... But doubt for change in
results...
