Seeking Alternatives to Artifactory reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jamsy100 · 2023-12-01 15:02 Hey everyone, I've been grappling with Artifactory lately, and I'm finding it seriously lacking in user-friendliness. Random errors keep popping up, and I'm curious if anyone else has encountered similar issues and possibly discovered a more efficient package management system? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RadiantTangerine4898 · 2023-12-01 15:32 Try out Pulp (https://pulpproject.org/pulp-in-one-container/). It is doing the same good as Artifactory, Nexus, or GitHub Packages, but for free since it is OSS. The only problem is that it does not have UI. However, there is a nice CLI utility available. You may learn more about Pulp here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grDXPtnJu4U. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- kaipee · 2023-12-01 15:41 Nexus ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jamsy100 · 2023-12-01 15:43 The last time I attempted to use Nexus, the user interface wasn't impressive, and it couldn't establish a connection with an external database. I'm unsure if this issue has been resolved, but it definitely wasn't a positive experience. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jamsy100 · 2023-12-01 15:44 Thank you for sharing this project. I wasn't aware of it. Do you happen to know if the absence of a user interface is intentional, or is there a plan to add one in the future? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MassPatriot · 2023-12-01 16:48 I'd used both in large professional settings. I found Nexus interface more intuitive and was easier for certs/LDAP. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Reverent · 2023-12-02 00:21 gitea now supports multiple different package registries. https://docs.gitea.com/usage/packages/overview ---------------------------------------------------------------------- BBRYGBVGW · 2023-12-02 04:35 5s2b ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Jamsy100 · 2023-12-02 07:30 What does that mean? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- RadiantTangerine4898 · 2023-12-04 11:41 Pulp is primarily a back-end solution that administrators interface with from scripts or other tools. Having the UI was not the main focus of the project. However, you can still contribute and design some UI, wink, wink.
