Looking for scheduling application reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SnooStories9098 · 2023-11-30 00:52 Hi all, Looking to self-host a reminder/scheduling application preferably with either iOS app or ability to push notifications to iOS. Just want to be able to schedule things like mow lawns weekly, take bins out weekly, clean car monthly etc. recurring events basically a must have feature. Thanks :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thedawn2009 · 2023-11-30 02:24 Like a CalDAV solution? Something like Radicale? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SnooStories9098 · 2023-11-30 02:33 I’ve had a look at like that, not sure that really does what I want. Looks like it just adds events to a calendar? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- thedawn2009 · 2023-11-30 02:44 It's essentially a Calendar server. Or are you looking for something where you can assign things to other people? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- shadoodled · 2023-11-30 04:10 When you create a calendar in Radicale, you have the option to set the type to "calendar", "tasks", or both. When you then add the calendar account to IOS, you will also see the the ones that are tasks on the Reminders app as lists. They work just like the default lists. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SnooStories9098 · 2023-11-30 05:02 Not necessarily assign to others. But was more chasing something seperate to a calendar. Otherwise it all just becomes to cluttered. Especially using iOS calendar as it cannot differentiate colours of events. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SnooStories9098 · 2023-11-30 05:03 So to confirm it can add them to reminders iOS app not just calendar? If so this might be it for me! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- shadoodled · 2023-11-30 05:33 Yes, exactly ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SnooStories9098 · 2023-11-30 07:27 Awesome :) gonna suss this tonight. Thanks legend ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SnooStories9098 · 2023-11-30 13:02 >Radicale? do you have a good docker compose file by chance? still a bit of a noob at this tbh ---------------------------------------------------------------------- shadoodled · 2023-11-30 13:55 I followed this one - https://github.com/tomsquest/docker-radicale/blob/master/docker- compose.yml ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SnooStories9098 · 2023-11-30 14:49 got the application up and running but im really not sure how to use it :S haha ---------------------------------------------------------------------- SnooStories9098 · 2023-11-30 21:49 I think that’s the one I used in the end. Got it up and running, but didn’t really understand how to use radicale so I’ll need to do some research. I understand how to add calendar but not reminders ---------------------------------------------------------------------- shadoodled · 2023-12-01 02:19 Here's a prime: In Radicale, tap "Create a new address book or calendar. If you only want to have reminders, choose "tasks" under Type [https://i.imgur.com/QeX7HKV.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/QeX7HKV.jpg) You can add as many as needed. Each one will have it's own URL. https://i.imgur.com/MoUdOqe.jpg in IOS, go to Settings > Calendar > Accounts > Add Account. Choose Other > Add CalDAV account and fill in your Radicale server details. https://i.imgur.com/NBKisgZ.jpg Once you added your Radical server, just make sure "Reminders" is enabled.
