paperless-ngx odd rotation reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- cestes1 · 2023-11-29 20:53 I thought I'd check here before posting an issue on github... I just got started with paperless last week and I'm still loading lots of docs into it. This morning I upgraded to 2.0.0 and noticed something odd. When I consume one particular document, both the thumbnail and the document itself are rotated counter-clockwise about 15 degrees. When I look at the original PDF it appears fine. I scanned it in from my scanner which I've used hundreds of times with no issue. I'm wondering if there's something in the source PDF's metadata that's causing the correction. I loaded a bunch of other documents today without any issues. Any idea where to look or how to stop this from happening? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- paperjam84 · 2023-11-29 21:37 Do you use the "clean OCR" option? That could cause this: https://docs.paperless-ngx.com/configuration/#PAPERLESS_OCR_CLEAN I wouldn't report this to Paperless-ngx though, but "upstream" to the unpaper project, which is a dependency of OCRmyPDF which is a dependency of Paperless-ngx. Or just disable the above option if you don't need it. "The program also tries to detect misaligned centering and rotation of pages and will automatically straighten each page by rotating it to the correct angle." I also turned off PAPERLESS\_OCR\_DESKEW with no effect. There's a lot of options to play with, I'll keep looking!
