Open source email pioneer Roundcube joins the Nextcloud family reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vnagornyy · 2023-11-29 10:57 It's good to see Roundcube found a new home, which means development will pickup and more features are coming 🚀 Do you use Roundcube? I do 😏 https://nextcloud.com/blog/open-source-email-pioneer-roundcube-comes- aboard-nextcloud/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- soldier9945 · 2023-11-29 11:59 Is there already an Integration easy to set up in Nextcloud? Or do you still need to host it somewhere AS a separate service and maybe link it to Nextcloud? In the article it doesn't seem as an official integration is even considered. But maybe I should have more than scrolling through the article xD ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vnagornyy · 2023-11-29 12:04 As far as the article says, they have no plans to replace Roundcube with Mail app or vice versa, Mail app with Roundcube yet. They'll continue to develop Roundcube. We'll have to see what the future holds, but it is looking bright for Roundcube. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- vvelox · 2023-12-08 19:25 Which is sad as Nextcloud Mail is complete and utter garbage. Not unsurprising though. Nextcloud has a long history of being unable to admit something is bad or broken. Took them numerous bug reports over like the last 5 or 7 years to finally admit the updater is broken in a large number of situations and just stop closing bug complaints mentioning it. https://github.com/nextcloud/updater/issues/158
