NPM InfluxDB Log Exporter reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- sheya55 · 2023-11-27 23:13 Howdy! I just published the first version of \`npm-influx-exporter\`. It runs as a lightweight docker container and periodically scrapes access log files from Nginx Proxy Manager and exports them to InfluxDB. Check it out here: [https://github.com/sheyabernstein/npm-influx- exporter](https://github.com/sheyabernstein/npm-influx-exporter) This project was written in Python and runs with minimal resources. It includes caching where possible, i.e. IP address geolocation lookups. It also draws heavy inspiration from [npmGrafStats written by smilebasti](https://github.com/smilebasti/npmGrafStats) who built the [Grafana dashboard](https://grafana.com/grafana/dashboards/18826-npmgrafstats- map-dashboard-influx-v2-3/) linked in the documentation. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- hdddanbrown · 2023-11-28 02:10 Pretty nice, thanks! Honestly i imagine that good portion of beginners use NPM as their reverse proxy, and later when they get more experienced (and want logs/metrics) they are very likely to move away from NPM towards for example Traefik (has Prometheus metrics already builtin) or Caddy etc.
