Host Homarr in Home Assistant reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Croome94 · 2023-11-27 22:09 Hey r/selfhosted community! I'm thrilled to introduce a new Home Assistant add-on: \*\*Homarr Server\*\*. This add-on is crafted for those who are running Home Assistant and looking for a straightforward way to self-host additional services directly on their HA server – without the need for separate hosting hardware. 👉 \*\*What is Homarr Server?\*\* Homarr Server is an add-on for Home Assistant that allows you to host the Homarr dashboard directly on your Home Assistant server. It's perfect for users who want to keep their self-hosted ecosystem centralized and don't have the luxury of dedicated hosting hardware. I realize that this is probably not for everyone here, but for some it might seem useful. \*\*Why Homarr Server?\*\* So I got this request from someone who didn't really have anywhere else to host it locally and was wondering if it was able to use their HA instance to host it. \*\*Easy Setup:\*\* Homarr Server is designed for ease of use. Simply add the repo to your Home Assistant instance, install the add-on, start the add-on, and access your Homarr dashboard at the provided URL. It's that straightforward! Your feedback, thoughts, and experiences are much appreciated, as they will help in refining and improving the add-on. Check it out here: [https://github.com/Wiggen94/ha-homarr- server/](https://github.com/Wiggen94/ha-homarr-server/) P.S. A heartfelt thank you to the r/selfhosted community for being a constant source of inspiration! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- yoJessieManDude · 2023-11-28 07:12 Clever! A really non-technical way of hosting, nice job ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Kawawete · 2023-11-28 10:04 I personally won't switch to that (I use a docker container for Homarr) but it's a really great idea ! Cool to see people wanting to make homelabbing/selfhosting easier :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LastTreestar · 2023-11-28 14:41 Does a dashboard exist which will scan your given IP space and detect what services you're running? I can't possibly configure a hundred service entries. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Croome94 · 2023-11-28 15:01 For monitoring? I can suggest Uptime Kuma in that case. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LastTreestar · 2023-11-28 22:04 Isn't Homarr a dashboard? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Croome94 · 2023-11-28 22:57 It is but it can't do auto-detection of running services unfortunately ---------------------------------------------------------------------- LastTreestar · 2023-11-28 23:02 I played with Homarr, then, again, realized it also did not scan... so the question is, does one exist that does?? I am still using bookmarks like it's 1995.
