Self hosted Podio alternative reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- stephanvierkant · 2023-11-27 19:43 My wife and I are using Podio as a personal tool. We use it as a spreadsheet where each row is an item where we can add attachments, comments, tasks, likes/votes. We share recipes, I've put my collection of Lego/Duplo in it, we put holiday destinations in it, etc. What could be an alternative? So far I've only found alternatives that are focused on tasks/Todo (like focalboard), on spreadsheets (nocoDB) or focussed on a specific use case (recipes, inventory). I love Podio because it hits the sweet spot between those tools, but I'm looking for a FOSS alternative. Anyone ideas? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- probablyjustpaul · 2023-11-27 20:18 I've been using Grist for this use case lately. It's a kind of middle ground between Google Sheets and Airtable and works really well. It was really easy to setup and use and I've been really enjoying it so far https://getgrist.com/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- throwawayacc201711 · 2023-11-27 20:24 Not OP but thanks for mentioning this. Looks like a cool tool I can make use of ---------------------------------------------------------------------- stephanvierkant · 2023-11-27 21:00 I've tried it, but I really miss features like attachments, comments, tasks, likes/votes on a row. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- probablyjustpaul · 2023-11-27 21:02 You can definitely add attachments (files, etc). It's a column type you can set. And it definitely takes a bit more work to get those others setup, but Grist can do them. You'll just need to add a column manually for each of those purposes and configure them for the appropriate data type+input style ---------------------------------------------------------------------- stephanvierkant · 2023-11-27 21:08 I see, but it isn't even close to what Podio can do. I see this is a great spreadsheet-like tool, but I'm looking for something between a spreadsheet and a task management system like Trello. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- tafa2 · 2023-11-28 03:58 Budibase is cool ---------------------------------------------------------------------- stephanvierkant · 2023-11-28 07:52 >Budibase I don't see any comments/likes/attachments? This is just another spreadsheet/workflow alternative. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- jo_ranamo · 2023-11-28 09:09 it has a comments plugin and attachments. With Budibase you can build a custom solution specific to your needs, rather than a ready-made off the shelf tool.
