Photo manager with the ability to manually add Faces/people

I know every other day people ask for a google photos alternative.
Usually immich and photoprism get a recommendation. I tried both and
some others (photoview, photonix…) but I couldn’t find one which
allows you to add a face manually (maybe draw a rectangle or use
existing metadata). The face recognition in immich works great but
when there is bad lighting or multiple people sometimes faces won’t be
recognized. It’s a bit annoying when I search for photos with a person
and some photos won’t show up. I tried to add faces manually with
Digikam in hope the apps would use the XMP Metadata in the file or the
Sidecar file but to no avail.

I know photprism and Immich have outstanding requests but there is no
progress in that matter, at least to my knowledge.

I don’t want to invest time and start to give names to the faces etc.
and start anew or go thru all of my photos and add the missing faces
when/if there is as solution in the future.

Am I the only one with this problem? If not what is your Workaround?

Ah my mistake I did wrote “manager”. “Gallery” would be more what I am
looking for.

There is an open issue for this in immich. They are actully working on
improving face recognition. So you can wait a bit if the other aspect
of the apps suite you :-)
