Executing a daily program in s3 reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ambitious-Fig-9656 · 2023-11-23 14:19 Hello everyone, Maybe someone can help me on that: I want to run a personal program (.exe) everyday in Amazon s3. So the program needs some of my input, so a script. How do I do such thing in S3? Thank you for your help ---------------------------------------------------------------------- yakzazazord · 2023-11-23 14:30 You might confusing a lot of things here... S3 is a bucket storage, what do you mean by "running a personnal\_program" ? You might want to explain your needs a little bit better if you want people to help you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ajt9000 · 2023-11-23 18:23 This isnt hard to do but its the exact opposite of self hosted, so you might be in the wrong subreddit. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- DIYSRE · 2023-11-23 22:02 S3 is just storage. It's not a hard drive or a computer, it's just object storage. If you're storing your .exe in S3 then there's [some options to use Lambda to run the exe](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/42013641/is-it-possible-for- aws-lambda-to-run-a-windows-binary-via-wine). You could also run a EC2 instance or access the S3 bucket with IAM credentials from a locally hosted server. It all depends on what you're doing. This is /r/selfhosted though; content here (and thus the people) are more in the line of running things at home.
