Proxmox Windows VM keeps crashing while using my Network Share! reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Nicklordzero · 2023-11-22 17:42 Hey community, I have been having a hell of a time trying to figure out why my vm keeps crashing... I am currently using Proxmox 8.0 and have a few Windows VMs using GPU Passthroughs, so I can use them like normal pcs on the go! Though recently I got myself a NAS and I have been trying to figure out why I am crashing constantly without any notice or crash logs... Since I am using Parsec, I am unable to see any blue screens on the system. I logged in to proxmox and switched off the gpu and used just the screen, and I'll sometimes get a blue screen, but it's too fast for me to screenshot. I've been using a software called "Who Crashed" to check my BSOD's and nothing is showing anything important.... Event log shows that the system has rebooted unexpectedly by itself. I am assuming this could be an issue with Windows on Proxmox 8.0? I've never seen this happen before when using Proxmox 7.4, but I am unable to revert at this point. TLDR: Windows crashes / reboots instantly after using my network share from time to time... I have no clue why it would be doing this, but it's happening and is really messing with what I need to be working on! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- murdaBot · 2023-11-23 13:41 Make sure you have the KVM Guest Drivers installed for Windows. https://github.com/virtio-win/kvm-guest-drivers-windows ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Nicklordzero · 2023-11-23 20:07 KVM gas is always installed, but I just un-selected ballooning device and everything seems to be fine for the meantime. I’ll update this thread if anything changes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Nicklordzero · 2023-11-24 05:13 So I left the vm on for over 10 hours and it has crashed twice with this BSOD ERROR: HAL_Initialization_FAILED ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Nicklordzero · 2023-11-24 05:13 So I left the vm on for over 10 hours and it has crashed twice with this BSOD ERROR: HAL_Initialization_FAILED
