Skype/MS Teams SelfHosted solution? reddit / selfhosted ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JaggedPolygon1900 · 2023-11-21 06:34 Has anyone successfully implemented a selfhosted alternative to video chat? Update: i went with jitsi ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ElevenNotes · 2023-11-21 07:10 Matrix/Synapse. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lilolalu · 2023-11-21 07:27 So, during covid i fiddled with a lot to figure out the available options. The big two opensource players were \- Jitsi meet \- big blue button i had both of them running, which was a PITA because back then both didnt have a proper docker setup. Both of them didnt work properly, stuttering, dropouts, general instability. I also tried Nextcloud Talk unsuccesfully. Now you can do video conferencing with multiple participants in Matrix / Element clients, Signal messenger etc. So a self hosted alternative is not so important anymore. If i would try to set this up again, i think i would go for a self hosted matrix server. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 8ballfpv · 2023-11-21 08:09 rocketchat? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- lbrwnie · 2023-11-21 12:31 Skype for business? /s ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TearDrainer · 2023-11-21 14:20 Mirotalk might be an option: https://github.com/miroslavpejic85/mirotalk ---------------------------------------------------------------------- davidyoungcos · 2023-11-21 14:48 Federated Computer offers hosted Jitsi and Element/Matrix (and a ton more) at [https://www.federated.computer](https://www.federated.computer) for $39/month/domain. Maybe that's a fit for you? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -eschguy- · 2023-11-22 00:37 That looks straight-up like a Discord/Slack competitor. I might need to spin this up... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- 8ballfpv · 2023-11-22 01:28 yeah, its pretty good once its up and running. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- killmasta93 · 2023-11-27 02:18 zulip/jitsi
