Hello everyone; we want to establish new ID cards in our sports
association that can be validated with QR/barcodes; I don't have
particularly high demands for the usability of the administration, but
the QR codes should be validated directly when scanned by any device
without a login and then display data such as name, club and a stored
photo.

Expired ID cards are not confiscated, but when the code is scanned, it
should then become clear that they are invalid.

Not fully self-hosted, but you can explore this option:

- https://www.kimai.org/ is opensource and free to self-host.
- You can then buy the "Kiosk mode with Barcode and RFID support"
plugin one-off for 199EUR. Even though it says cost is yearly, you can
still use after 1 year but no support. You will see this information
